KEEP ME POSTED

We will again offer the PAPER DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP (PDW) as an engaged environment to discuss and develop research papers. The PDW is structured as a workshop with a highly interactive format, focused on developing papers towards publication in top academic journals. Selected papers will be discussed with peers as well as with especially invited senior discussants (advanced scholars with very strong expertise in the focus area of the respective papers) who provide feedback based on their experience and with a particular emphasis towards publishing in highly competitive journals. All scholars can apply. In case of high demand, preference is given to full-paper submissions from main authors who are currently aiming for promotion to tenured faculty positions (esp. mid-career researchers).

PhD Seminar

The PhD seminar will be held before the congress formally begins. The aim of the seminar is to provide an international setting where doctoral students in the fields of public relations and strategic communication can present their ongoing work, get feedback from experts and peers, and establish a valuable network for the future. More information on the seminar and on how to apply can be found on EUPRERA PHD Seminar website. The seminar will be hosted by the Charles University Chalet in Pec pod Sněžkou in the amazing landscape of Krkonoše, the Czech highest mountains.

Keynote speeches

This year, the congress will be enriched by three keynote lectures delivered by:

Ganga Dhanesh, Associate Dean from the College of Communication and Media Sciences in Dubai. (Wednesday, 20 September 2023)

Morten Huse, Professor emeritus at BI Norwegian Business School; Department of Communication and Culture. (Friday, 22 September 2023)

Lars Thøger Christensen, Professor from the Department of Management, Society and Communication, Copenhagen Business School. (Wednesday, 20 September 2023)

Social Programme

This congress will be accompanied by the opportunites to enrich the scientific experience.

On the first day, participants will have the opportunity to visit the ateliers of UMPRUM. We will provide you with two (identical) rounds of guided tours to present how works are crafted by students and teachers in various ateliers and workshops.

On the last day, Saturday morning, 23 September 2023, there will be a guided sightseeing walk in the heart of the city center of Prague.

Education Café

The Education Café is a 90 min workshop proposed by the Education Network as a way to explore issues shared by EUPRERA members and EUPRERA Congress participants in their teaching activity. This is an adaption of the World Café, a methodology for hosting group dialogue that puts an emphasis on the power of simple conversation in considering relevant questions and themes. As a participant in the Education Café, you will be part of three to four rounds of informal discussions regarding topics, issues and possible solutions that are relevant to communication and public relations education. The topics will be selected by the EUPRERA members through an online poll prior to the Prague Congress. The participants do not need to prepare any material, only to be open to experience and knowledge exchange with other international colleagues through constructive conversations. The summary and insights of the discussions will be shared with the EUPRERA community and inform future projects of the Education Network.

Research Escalator Session

The EUNES Research Escalator Session (RES) is an opportunity for early- and mid-career researchers with a work-in-progress paper or research idea to receive peer feedback and support. The session aims to help project development, allow authors to identify and invite potential collaborators, and provide mutual learning opportunity among early- and mid-career researchers.
